Local pest information

Pests by location

Pest activity depends on climate, housing and local environment. Find information about pests where you live.

Queensland

Queensland’s warm climate means a long pest season across most of the state. From subtropical South East Queensland to the tropical north, cockroaches, ants, mosquitoes, spiders, rodents and termites are part of everyday home maintenance.

New South Wales

New South Wales spans subtropical north-coast conditions, temperate Sydney and cooler inland and alpine areas, so pest pressure varies considerably across the state.

Victoria

Victoria’s cooler, temperate climate makes pest activity more seasonal than in northern states, with a strong summer peak for insects and a winter peak for rodents. The invasive European wasp is a notable Victorian pest.
